For a recent Fashion Magazine Beauty Panel post we were asked which celebrities inspired us and how we translated their looks to real life.
Ever since the Hunger Games movie (I can’t wait for Catching Fire by the way!) I have been really taken with Jennifer Lawrence. She seems to look good both on the red carpet and in casual settings but her Oscar makeup and hair is what caught my attention most recently.
So what is it that I liked about this look? Well obviously her flawless skin but I liked that the makeup was really soft and simple. The eyes were done in a soft grey and soft pink was used on her cheeks and lips.
See my post for my “everyday” take on this look.
Grey is one of my all time favourite colours in EVERYTHING. (Even Baxter is grey – haha!) Does that sound weird? But really, grey goes with everything and compliments everything! I really love a good grey eye shadow as it works well for day and you can really go crazy with it for night.
The eyes: For this post I used a grey shadow from Giorgio Armani which was a limited edition compact I received around Christmas time. This compact in Mystery probably has similar colours. For my liner I’m using my daily favourite L’Oreal Infalliable Laquer Liner 24hr in blackest black.Whether you use the brush it comes with (which is excellent by the way) or your favourite angled brush this liner goes on so smoothly. You can create a thin or thick line so easily and it stays put all day. I finished the eyes with my go to mascara of late: Benefit They’re Real. I also made sure my eye brows were groomed so I used Tweezerman Eyenhance pencil to fill them in.
The Cheeks: For the cheeks I actually reached for a coral/peach colour. I used Revolution Organics Freedom Glow Beauty Balm in Sun Kissed for a natural flush and contoured a bit with Annabelle’s Biggy Bronzer in Haute Gold.
The Lips: I just discovered this lipstick from Belvada in Soft Pink. It’s a great neutral pink lipstick for this look! To soften it up I smudged it with my fingers so it didn’t look “too perfect”.
Which celebrity inspires your day to day makeup? I’d love to know, leave me a comment 🙂
