Last month the Allied Beauty Association held their Toronto Expo and Conference and Naomi was kind enough to attend. Check out her overview of the event.

The Allied Beauty Association is a two-day trade show and marketplace for hairstylists, aestheticians and nail technicians from across Ontario who are looking to connect with industry experts from around the world. I arrived just before 10 am so that I could take the tour that Langton PR was giving. After I had checked in, I was given a lovely rolling cart so that I could fill it with the goodies.
There were so many amazing products to check out; in face too many to cover, so I will just highlight a few of the vendors that really stood out to me as industry professionals.
Moroccanoil definitely had a big presence at ABA Toronto! We spoke with Amy and she demonstrated a lovely Veronica Lake-esque style.
She then turned it into a very elegant chignon by separating the hair and doing two loose braids. She then twisted the braid together and secured them to the hair and wrapped and tucked all the hair into this lovely style; perfect for an evening out on the town with your beau.
Another standout for me was another hair company – Redken. I have used their products before (shampoo and conditioner) and had really liked them. We spoke with Terry Ritcey who is the National Education Director for Redken. He was telling us about a new product called Pillow Proof which is a duo-phase express primer with a heat protectant built in. Pillow Proof is supposed to help the user achieve a perfect blowout and expedite the drying time.
I think the product I was most excited to learn about at the show was Cuccio Nail Solutions. They are a relatively new (at least to me) nail company that sells nail polish and other manicure/pedicure products. I picked up a nail polish called “Cheeky in Helskini”.
I love how true to colour the nail polish is and it applies like a dream.
The website says:
Cuccio Colour™ Professional Nail Lacquer is formulated with Triple Pigmentation Technology for rich coverage in one coat and true coverage in two coats.
…I would have to agree. It is hands down the best polish I have tried in a very long while. As a side note, the nail lacquers are 3-free!
I had a really great time learning about the hot new trends for 2014 and am looking forward to seeing these become mainstream.
