OPI Celebrates 50 Years of the Ford Mustang

50 years of the Ford Mustang?!? Yup! Many people I know have fond memories of this car – including myself. My mom actually had a little black Ford Mustang that she learned to drive on and it was manual too…if you know my mom today you’d be SHOCKED! When my brother got his license he “inherited” that car and managed to total it….but that’s another story 😉

I actually attended the 50 Years of Ford Mustang celebration a few months back as a guest of Chic Darling. Here are a couple of phone photos from the event.

This cake was pretty impressive – the car on the cake rotated and it was lit up by intermittent blue lights.

I sent this photo to my husband to make him jealous since he’s a pretty big mustang fan. We’ve actually owned a couple over the years 🙂

And the famous Steve McQueen Bullit car.

Anyway…back to the OPI  Ford Mustang collection. OPI and Ford have collaborated before but this current limited edition collection features six show stopping colours.

I was only sent 3 of the 6 polishes in the collection:

Girls Love Ponies – A gorgeous grown up pink

50 Years of Style: A pretty golden colour

Race Red: Mustang’s signature colour – a really gorgeous and vibrant red

Like all polishes from this brand the ones I tested from the OPI Ford Mustang collection go on so beautifully! After one coat the “Girls Love Ponies” and “Race Red” looked pretty perfect and opaque while the “50 Years of Style” needed two for an even look.

I’m loving all these colours and will definitely be getting good use out of them this summer!

The OPI Ford Mustang Collection will be available July 2014.
