Last month new summer Revlon Colostay products were launched! I asked my friend L to test them out for me as I know she loves trying out new products. Read her thoughts below!

I am a huge makeup junkie and love trying out new products. So, when Elaine asked me to review Revlon’s new Colorstay™ products, I was of course super excited! Launched in Canada in June 2014, the line includes 3 new ranges of products (lip stain, liquid eyeliner, and nail polish) as well as 3 new shades of the brand’s existing eyeliner pencil. After trying out the products for a couple of months, I have to say that I am very impressed with their quality. The products do exactly what the name “Colorstay” promises: they provide stunning, vivid colours that last!
Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain
From top to bottom: 010 LA Exclusive│001 India Intrigue│005 Parisian Passion
I love using lip stains, so the Colorstay Moisture Stain was definitely the first to grab my attention. This lip stain/gloss is formulated with Vitamin E and Aloe to moisturize the lips while offering a creamy texture and glossy finish. The texture is quite unique: it is thicker and creamier compared to most lip stains I have tried. However, it does not feel heavy or sticky at all, and I like that I do not need to apply a lip gloss on top which I usually do when I use other lip stains to get a glossy look. You can apply one coat for a sheer finish, or apply two full coats to show the full colour. My favourite shade is India Intrigue, which is a gorgeous berry colour that can brighten up any skin tone. The Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain is available in 12 beautiful shades and retails for $12.95.

I kind of have a love-and-hate relationship with using eyeliners in general. I love the look which eyeliners give me, but I hate having to pay meticulous attention to apply them and touch up throughout the day because most eyeliners tend to smudge very easily on my eyes. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the Colorstay Eyeliner. It’s very easy to apply: the pencil glides nicely and does not require extra time to dry. It comes with a built-in sponge tip so you can smudge and blend the line if needed, and it stays on all day! The product claims to last for 16 hours – I usually don’t wear makeup for that long, but it did last for the whole day on my eyes with minimal smudging. The Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner retails for $10.49. This launch includes 3 new shades.
Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy
Clockwise from top left: 440 Wild Card│130 Pocket Aces│100 Cardshark│450 High Roller
This new nail collection features a 2-step system that can create a long-lasting gel-like shine. The Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Enamel is the first step. This 2-in-1 formula combining base coat and colour is super easy to use and provides a beautiful shiny finish on its own. The second step is the Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Diamond Top Coat which is designed to boost the enamel’s shine and staying power. I wore the Cardshark shade for about 5 days, and it held up pretty well with only minimal chipping on a couple of my nails. Obviously, these polishes are not going to last for two weeks like actual gel nails. But they are definitely worth checking out if you want to get that gel-shine on your nails without dealing with drying under UV light and soaking the nails in acetone for removal. The Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy comes in 30 shades plus 1 top coat, and it retails for $7.95.
Do any of these new Revlon Colorstay products pique your interest?
