What an event! This was my first experience at IMATS, and I have to say, for any make-up / beauty enthusiast, IMATS is definitely the place for you! It’s such a crazy experience that both myself and my wallet were underprepared for!
I’d heard first-hand that IMATS was definitely the place to stock up on certain beauty products. With that knowledge, I went in knowing that I was going to splurge. See below for some of my IMATS picks, and see here for Elaine’s recap!
First up, I purchased a duo lipstick from Belvada Cosmetics. What I liked about this product was the fact that it was both a balm and lipstick connected with a tube – pushing in one side of the stick would release the other (really neat, when you see it). Currently retailing for $20.00, the products are really ‘mini’ versions of their counterparts, but they’re fun. I really enjoyed the colour of the ‘Natural Earth’ shade, so I splurged! Belvada guarantees a great moisturizing, conditioning, and vitamin rich lipstick and so far, I’m enjoying.
IPKN was definitely the most interesting purchase of my experience! IPKN has deemed themselves the ‘new era of foundation coverage’ – it’s a flexbile vibrating head that follows the contours of your face to provide optimum foundation coverage. After the saleswomen said her pitch – I was hooked! Applied with a ‘Rubicell Puff’, the foundation and or BB cream is applied so effortlessly to the skin through minimal vibrations. So far, I love everything about this product (look for a review in the near future!). I think it’s ingenious and so convenient for those early, rushed mornings – your skin appears fresh, poreless and airbrushed. Currently, it retails online for $49.00 CAN.
Whenever I posed the question of ‘what to look for at IMATs’, bdellium tools were the one product that was constantly brought up. So naturally, it was one of the first booths I stopped at. Originally, I was looking for certain brushes, but the Maestro Series brush set caught my eye! It’s a complete professional 12 brush set with a luxurious black wood handle. I think it’s a perfect set for both beginners and professionals – the quality is just so phenomenal, it’s worth it either way. I was lucky enough to purchase this set at IMATs for nearly half off it’s regular price. Worth it? Yes!
Lastly, I purchased this eye palette set. Retailing for $20.00, I think it was a definite bargain for all the amazing colours it provides. What I love the most about this palette was the fact that it provides you with a range of colours to experiment with, without the burden of purchasing individual palettes. So cute, and completely portable!
