For Fall 2012, Caryl Baker Visage has launched an amazing new collection that they’ve dubbed ‘Uptown Girl’. The collection is supremely gorgeous, and inspired by Caryl Baker’s admiration for ‘hardworking, strong, independent women’. Motivated by city life, Carol Baker presents three different colour palettes and choices for the everyday woman:
- After Hours
- Power Lunch
- Midtown Morning
The Caryl Baker Visage Midtown Morning Line |
I was lucky enough to try out the Midtown Morning line. This colour palette might be my favourite of the three. The colours are perfect for the office – they add a little pop of colour to your day, and they are easy enough to play up for nighttime. Here’s a breakdown of the items below.
Eye Shadow ($17.50 CAN): The three colour choices are ‘Gingerbread Latte’, ‘Check Please’, and ‘In Transit’. Gingerbread Latte is a beautiful gold-shimmer colour, while the other two are gorgeous purples, one with a hit of shimmer (Check Please) while the other is a matte (In Transit).

Blush ($21.50 CAN): Called ‘Slept In’, that is a purple-based blush. It provides a ‘natural glow’ and matches perfectly with this colour palette.
Lipstick ($17.50 CAN): Called ‘Morning After’. I’m not sure what I’m more impressed with, the colour or the packaging of this lipstick. It comes with it’s own little mirror that pops up as soon as you pop off the lid. Carol Baker describes this colour as ‘innocent and fresh’ yet I think it’s the exact opposite. I think it’s a beautifully dark and lush look for the office or nighttime. It might by one of my favourite lipsticks because it glides on so smoothly.
Lip Gloss ($19.50 CAN): Called ‘Rodeo Drive’. It’s a good match to the lipstick, in terms of colour. It’s perfectly sleek and shiny – in fact, its shininess was the first thing I noticed about this colour. On a side note, it smells absolutely divine! Again, it’s a good colour to wear alone to play up your lips.

Eyeliner ($17.50 CAN): Called ‘Occult’. My favourite product of the entire collection. The colour is extraordinary. It’s a deep purple, with a hint of shimmer that is gorgeous against blue eyes (or any eyes, for that matter). Also, the colour won’t budge. The colour is enough that you can ever wear it alone and it works.
Here are some swatches of the colours. Unfortunately, the Gingerbread Latte colour translates terribly to camera, but trust me, it’s a fantastic colour.
