Last week I attended a fabulous event at the The One Eighty in Toronto (formally known as Panorama) as Maybelline New York Celebrates 100 years! Can you believe it?

The celebration was full of excitement and showcased some of Maybelline New York’s amazing launches throughout the years, new products that we can all get excited about and a guest appearance by spokesmodel Gigi Hadid (who happens to share a birthday with me!)

It was very cool to see some of the products of years past and learn about some of their more iconic products such as Great Lash – which was born in 1971 and still remains one of the most popular mascaras ever.
In the 1960’s Maybelline New York was all about the eyes – check out the mascara remover – I’d be curious to try that out now!
Beautiful models showcased the looks of today and showed off products that will be launching soon (stay tuned for a future post on a new “Baby Lips” products and a gorgeous new palette too!).
Of course no bash as huge as this one would be complete without a supermodel present 😉 Check out Gigi Hadid in this GORGEOUS white tuxedo suit showing how fashion tape works in its finest moment 😛
My “birthday twin” was kind enough to snap a photo with me too! Her look was SO on point! Her makeup and hair were so perfect with the outfit at the event.

Her hair is credited to Matthew Collins and her makeup was completed by the one and only Grace Lee, Lead Makeup Artist for Maybelline New York Canada. When I saw Gigi’s eye makeup I fell in LOVE! Grace was standing beside and she told me it only took her FIVE minutes!
The Maybelline New York Canada Team gave me the inside scoop on her look:
In a nod to the racing stripe on Hadid’s white Smythe pantsuit, Maybelline New York Lead Makeup Artist Grace Lee penned a double-lined eye using new (July 2015) Maybelline Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil in Cashmere White and Master Precise Ink Pen Eyeliner in Black. Lashes were coated with Lash Sensational Mascara in Blackest Black and brows were combed through with Brow Drama in Blonde. Hadid’s lips were topped with nude hue (Color Sensational The Buffs Lipstick in Truffle tease), keeping all focus on her gorgeous liner.
What an absolutely gorgeous and wearable look for summer, don’t you think?
Happy 100th birthday Maybelline New York! Can’t wait to see what the next 100 years brings!
