{Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Perfume}
A new season, for many, means a fresh start. It be as simple as putting away your winter clothes and taking out your spring wardrobe. For others, it might involve getting a haircut or a skin-renewing facial. For me, I like to change my perfume.
My mother taught me that some scents are “better” in warmer months while others should be preserved for colder times of year. Typically, the more woodsy the scent, the more likely she wanted me to keep that perfume for the winter; if there were floral or fruity notes, she encouraged that I wear that when the trees are blossoming and starting to bear their own wonderful smell. I still keep her advice in the back of my mind when the seasons change and I go through my perfume collection (yes, over the years, it has grown to a collection!).
This season you’ll find a new perfume to introduce you to spring from Guerlain. This new scent is a part of the Aqua Allegoria collection and it has some great fruity-floral notes to take you into the warmer months. Pera Granita means “pear sorbet” and this fruity citrus fragrance can make you think you’re sitting under a pear tree, enjoying an icy treat. The top notes are grapefruit, lemon and bergamot (like a citrus earl grey tea). The middle notes are pear, osmanthus and orange blossom. Osmanthus is an Asian flower that can smell like apricot and peach. I did notice, though, that I got much more of a floral scent here than much fruit. The bottom notes are moss, white musk and cedar, providing some depth to all of the fruit and flowers. The overall scent is one that is light, but lingers all day. It’s a bit too floral-heavy for me, but would be great for others that prefer those kinds of perfumes.
