I recently became aware of a really great cause happening on Saturday May 11th 2013.
The Down Syndrome Association of Toronto will be holding their First Annual Buddy Walk! This event is for the whole family to help raise awareness of those living with Down Syndrome.
The Buddy Walk was started by the National Down Syndrome Society in New York City. It has grown from 17 walks in 1995 to over 300 around the world!
How can you help? If you’d like to participate all you have to do is put on your walking shoes, grab your friends and family and walk the Buddy Walk on Saturday May 11th. Registration is at 9am and the walk starts at 10am at Woodbine / Ashbridges Bay Park (Lakeshore Blvd. East and Coxwell Ave). Participants are encouraged to raise funds and create teams.
You can help by spreading awareness of this event and help raise funds. All funds raised will be going to the Down Syndrome Association of Toronto for various activities and support programs.
