If you remember from last week’s post, I’ve been reviewing four equally impressive BB creams. I’ve dubbed it ‘Battle of the BB Creams’! The four creams are as follows:
- Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream
- Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream
- Marcelle BB Cream 8 in 1 Beauty Balm
- Annabelle Multi-Action BB Cream
Up this week: Marcelle and Annabelle.

Product: Marcelle BB Cream 8 in 1 Beauty Balm
Price: $22.99 (CAN)
What It Claims: “…hypo-allergenic, perfume free, evens out skin tone, immediate hydration, anti-aging, skin regeneration, mattifies, controls shine, smoothes, calms, minimizes pore…”
Available: In 3 shades
Review: Hands down, does absolutely everything is claims. My skin looks luminescent when I’m wearing this product. Every 8 benefits Marcelle claims the cream provides (mattifies, smoothes, calms, covers, protects), it more than delivers.
The protect itself is thicker than some of the other BB creams, but the coverage provided is so astronomical that it’s worth it. Another difference – the cream is dispensed through a tiny pump, rather than the standardized ‘squeeze-tube’. About 1 full pump of product is all you need to cover your face.
You can slightly see how it shines against your skin
That being said, all flaws that I wanted covered were covered, the tiny fine lines around my eyes were smoothed out, and my skin was completely ‘mattified’ – it looked smoother and more radiant than without the product. The added bonus with this product – Marcelle offers anti-aging ingredients within this BB cream. All that in one cream is absolutely phenomenal. This product is definitely a summer-staple.
Final Verdict: My favourite – a summer staple in my makeup bag from now on.

Product: Annabelle Multi-Action BB Cream
Price: $12.99 and up (CAN)
What It Claims: “…skin matching pigments, boosts skin tone, protects against UV rays”
Available: In 2 Shades (light/medium and medium/dark)
Review: Definitely a good product. It provided me more coverage than the Maybelline one, but not as much as the Garnier or Marcelle.
Annabelle’s blends really well (L)
The product comes in a cute little black squeeze tube. The coverage is just enough (a little better than a tinted moisturizer) but not enough to go without concealer. The feel is very light, which is very beneficial when the weather is as warm as it has been. The added SPF is a great bonus. The product itself is also light enough to not clog up your skin – I found it allowed my skin to ‘breathe’, which again, is great on these hot summer days.
Final Verdict: Good, but it’s sister company, Marcelle, has the better product.

There you have it! 4 BB creams in 2 weeks. If I had to choose a definite winner, it would hands down be Marcelle’s BB Cream 8 in 1 Beauty Balm. It provides the most benefits, and the price isn’t too outrageous.
