I’ve been on the search for a great blush to compliment my naturally pale skin tone for the longest time. It seemed like every time I purchased a blush, the colour was practically non-existent, or was vibrant enough to make me look like a clown. Not the greatest look for the office! After months of searching, I’ve found one I like enough to blog about. Isn’t it amazing the items you can pick up on a drug store run?
Thank you, Hard Candy’s ‘Fox in a Box’!

Product: Hard Candy’s ‘Fox in a Box’ Blush in Spicy and Sweet
Price: $5.99 (CAN)
What It Claims: “…highly pigmented, multicolour powder compact”
First Impressions: Unfortunately, I’ve never used anything from the brand, and I’ve been having such terrible luck with blushes lately that I wasn’t going to get my hopes up.
Review: The box itself is adorable and is obviously an homage to the Benefit cosmetic blush boxes. In my case, I’ve been looking for a nice subtle blush that still gives a hint of colour, that lasts throughout the day. This blush does just that.
The colour quads are gorgeous and do a great job of complimenting my skin tone. All four colours blend together perfectly to give nice and subtle shading to my cheeks. Two swipes on either side are all you need to show off these colour tones. The darker colour in the quads also acts as a mini-bronzer, and for anyone pale-skinned like myself, you know how much of a bonus this can be. The colours blended together are not overbearing, and provide a nice summery glow.
That being said, I firmly believe that this blush will only work best on individuals with fairer skin tones. The light pops of colour may be TOO subtle for individuals with darker skin tones, and therefore, they may find better matches elsewhere.
Verdict: Great blush for a great price! I love the mini quads mixing together to create a perfect summer glow, and I completely adore the packaging. For the price, well worth it!
