I always get the most use out of neutral hues when it comes to eye shadows and liners. Whenever there is a varied palette, I will usually notice the brown, gray and beige tones are empty while the other colors still have generous amounts left over. What can I say? I guess I am a fairly natural girl when it comes to my eyes.
{Clinique Pretty Easy Eye Palette}
The Clinique Pretty Easy Eye Palette is one wardrobe of colors that I know I will be using up quite evenly! All 8 shadows are numbered (names are on the back). On the mirror are directions to get two distinctly different looks: Naturally Pretty or Dramatically Pretty. Along with the shadows are two skinny sticks, which are eyeliners that you do not need to sharpen in 01 slimming black and 03 slim sable.
What I love most about this palette is:
- The variety of neutrals in both matte and metallic finishes
- Easy step-by-directions for the perfect look
- The convenient no-sharpening-needed skinny sticks
- Its compact size, perfect for slipping into your purse when you are on the go
Naturally Pretty is great for the everyday – work, family outings, shopping, you name it. To get this look you use colors 2 for under the brow and 3 for the lid (top row, middle two) along with the slim sable skinny stick which is a warm brown tone. You can also create many of your own looks that flatter your personal eye shape and compliment your style. I have small eye lids so I really like using number 3 just on my lid up to the crease, and a clean line of slim sable on my upper lid and half of my lower lid just below the water line. The colors really enhance one’s natural beauty!
To get the Dramatically Pretty Look they suggest you use color 5 or 8 (light metallic hues) for the lid, 4 for the crease (jute brown) and 2 or 7 for just under the brow line, which are light, warm colors to highlight. Then you take 6 (a charcoal shade called peppercorn) and line the far outward edges in a sideways v-shape. You polish it off with your skinny stick in slimming black. It sounds kind of different when explaining it verbally, but the diagram-like directions make it quite clear and easy! The end result is a statement-making smoky eye perfect for a night out on the town or fancy dinner.
Its compact size will fit nicely into a purse or your favourite clutch without being bulky. I love that there is also a mirror included for touch ups, should you not be close to a powder room or do not feel like waiting in the bathroom lineup!
Ok, the next step? Eyebrows! Every beautiful pair of eyes needs an equally gorgeous pair of brows to compliment them. In my opinion with brows; the more natural looking the better, yet every brow can be guided here and there in the right direction. The Pretty Easy Brow Palette has everything you need for the perfect pair of them.
My favourite features of this “sister kit” to the eye shadow palette is:
- Versatile shades to compliment most skin tones and hair colors
- Easy step-by-step directions
- Small, compact size
- The variety of brow tools included
Once again, there are clear directions on the inside that tell you what colors to use and where for a defined, flawless look. It only takes a few seconds and you will be polished and ready to go.
I also love how there are brushes for the powder as well as a brow brush included in the kit for optimal grooming. It is everything you need in one compact size!
The Pretty Easy Eye Palette can be purchased at Hudson’s Bay for $55 CAD and the Pretty Easy Brow Palette at Sephora for $43 CAD.
