What is it about a new season – particularly the end of Daylight Savings – that makes you want to revamp your entire look? It’s like that crisp, autumn air is enticing you to come back to stores (or virtually online) and try something new. One of my favourite places to check out what’s new and trending is with drugstore beauty brands like Quo.

If you’ve gone into Shoppers Drug Mart over the past year, you might have noticed that drugstore beauty brand Quo Beauty has had a makeover. The beloved Canadian brand has a new, fresh look that will make any beauty lover feel like they’re in a candy store! With over 1,000 newly formulated products that range from lips and complexion to skincare and hair accessories, the Quo lineup is a dazzling sight that’s sure to pique anyone’s interest.
Quo Beauty is now 100% vegan and cruelty-free – and they’re mindful of their environmental impact, reducing packaging across their entire line. And what’s even better, in addition to their line being sold across all Shoppers locations, over 300 Loblaws-owned grocery stores are selling Quo Beauty too. Who doesn’t love shopping for makeup and dinner at the same time? A fun, yet dangerous combination (for my wallet) I might add.
While their holiday collections are the stuff of gifting dreams, read on for a full round-up of my favourite core Quo products for face, eyes and lips!
Face
One of Quo Beauty’s stand-out products that’ll make any high-end makeup brand shake in their boots is Quo Beauty Liquid Foundation* ($20). Its lightweight, yet velvety finish makes your skin look airbrushed with just a couple of drops. I was floored to watch this drugstore beauty formula melt into my skin effortlessly with one application, leaving room to apply more for higher coverage. With only 14 shades, however, the Liquid Foundation range is limited. Hopefully Quo Beauty will expand this line to be more inclusive so more beauty lovers can see that this foundation is the real deal.
Do you believe in miracles? After using Quo Beauty’s Miracle Cover Concealer* ($14), I sure do! I’ve never been a big fan of concealers (always cakey, never the right shade), especially for under-eye use. But this gem of a tube surprised me in every way. Its doe-foot applicator gives the easiest application, allowing for just the right amount of precision to cover up dark circles and discolouration. Pick up a shade lighter in your undertone if you want a brightening effect. Like Quo’s Liquid Foundation, the shade range of their concealer is limited (15 shades), but hopefully the brand will expand to accommodate more skin tones.
Blush is my ride-or-die to give instant life to my complexion. Since the pandemic started, I’ve found myself gravitating towards cream formulas, and Quo Beauty Featherweight Cream Blush ($14) is a heavy contender as one of the best cream blushes I’ve ever used. The super pigmented formula provides the prettiest flush to anyone’s skin! The finish is not too matte nor too dewy – truly the perfect in-between for all skin types. All seven universal shades are a great pick-me-up at the drugstore for those dreary days when the sun sets sooner than you’d like it to.
Eyes
Ever since I learned to apply the perfect winged liner, I’ve been on the hunt for the blackest liquid eyeliner on the market. Enter Quo Beauty’s Liquid Precision Marker ($12)! With one swipe, the sharp felt-tip applicator gives the best colour payoff I’ve ever seen from a drugstore beauty eyeliner. It has cut down my eyeliner application time and product in half. With six shades in their collection, Quo Beauty has mastered the perfect liquid eyeliner. Catch me doing cat-eye liner in every shade for the rest of the year.
Lips
Quo Beauty’s Lipstick ($10) may be small, but it carries the biggest punch in the realm of lip products. Each lipstick contains jojoba seed extract to keep your lips hydrated and comfortable for all-day wear. With 12 shades, take your pick to complete your makeup look before a night out!
If lipstick isn’t your jam, Quo Beauty’s Avocado Lip Balm ($10) might be up your alley to keep your lips moisturized throughout the fall season. Shea butter and avocado oil are the star ingredients in this formula, while the sheer pigment gives your lips the lightest wash of colour. Who doesn’t love a no-fuss lip product that also smells like watermelon candy?!
Skincare
As much as we love makeup here at TBR, we all know that skincare is really the star of the show. Luckily, Quo Beauty has also expanded their skincare collection, and it’s just as fabulous as their makeup!
A great product to add to your skincare routine is Quo Beauty Brightening Facial Mist ($18). What makes Quo’s facial mist special is their unique combination of vitamin C and E and moringa seed oil. The dual, oil-water mixture provides the right amount of hydration after cleansing your skin, plus a dewy finish to set your makeup. It’s a great 2-in-1 product that gives both skincare and makeup benefits.
A good makeup remover is the real MVP in your skincare routine and Quo Beauty’s Banana Cleansing Balm ($20) is a great addition to your nighttime lineup. This oil balm contains banana extract to help break down makeup and sunscreen with ease. Add a bit of water to emulsify a dime-size amount of the cleaning balm before massaging into the skin, and you’ll instantly see every bit of makeup melt off. It’s the most satisfying sight at the end of the day, and leaves your skin feeling clean and soft.
Quo Beauty is redefining the drugstore beauty game with fun, high-performance makeup and skincare products that everyone can love. And their affordable prices make it easy to pick up something new every time you swing by Shoppers!
