Last Saturday, I was invited to Fashionotes exclusive TIFF event called ‘Stylecasting‘. Hailed as an event for the fashion, film and art lover in all of us, it was a beautiful event held at the Studio, on Nelson Street in Toronto.
Fashionotes went all out on this one. Held in a revamped ‘model’ home, complimentary Motts Clemato Ceaser’s, champagne, and Pop chips were doled out to all event-goers. I wonder if the actual home comes with a DJ booth in the living room?
I was a little wary of what to wear. Seeing as it was both a Fashionotes and TIFF related event, I knew it was going to be fancy.
I picked up this gem of a dress on a random work/lunch hour trip to my nearby Marshalls. It was really such happenstance that I came across this dress – I found it a couple days before the actual event.I really wish I took a picture of the back of the dress. It was completely open, and I thought it was a good splash of skin, considering the front was completely covered. I especially loved the lace pattern, with the touch of sparkles throughout! I wouldn’t think lace and sparkles would work so effectively, but I was surprised. Side note though: it came with shoulder pads. I HATE shoulder pads. I cut them out though, and my problem was solved!
