Father’s Day is just around the corner and I think that most of us probably struggle to find the perfect Father’s Day gift. Here are a few (hopefully) unique gifts to perhaps add to your list!
For the Dad that takes grooming SERIOUSLY I discovered a site called MenEssentials which also has a store at 412 Danforth and I see it being the perfect place to shop for men’s grooming items.
Some dads’ pride and joy (besides their kids of course!) is their hair. If this describes the dad you’re buying for then perhaps this hair pomade by Imperial Barber ($24) is the perfect gift for him. It’s barbershop grade and is pliable and perfect for “bed head” or fixing “helmet hair”. Who knew there were guys out there that cared so much! 😉
This Captain’s Choice Bay Rum aftershave ($17.95) caught my eye since many guys I know love rum. I’m curious as to what this would actually smell like as there really IS rum in the ingredients. The description says bay, cinnamon and citrus….interesting!
To my dismay more and more guys are sporting beards these days. (Don’t take any offense if your guy or the dad in your life sports a beard…I’m just a clean cut type of gal!). I never even considered that beards would need care and conditioning just like the hair on your head! The Urban Beard, Beard Oil ($25) is made in Canada and is to be used daily to help keep the beard soft and smelling fresh. It also heals dry, flaky skin and prevents beard-dandruff (…beard dandruff?!?…).
What about the dad that’s into footwear? Timberland has always had stylish and practical shoes and boots that I think any dad would appreciate!
These Men’s Earthkeepers Bradstreet shoes ($125) are really good looking shoes! I really like the colour combination and I think any dad would have a spring in their step wearing these.
For a more laid back subtle look I like these Men’s Earthkeepers Oxford Shoes ($75). I like that they’re navy too which is a nice twist on the typical black and brown that the dad in your life probably already has! Timberland shoes can be found at Town Shoes stores.
I am personally not a carbonated drink fan, however I know there are many out there who are, so what if the dad in your life is?
Carbonated drinks are typically laced with sugar and other not-so-good for you ingredients. You might want to check out the ever popular Soda Stream ($99.99 – $199.99). I never had an interest in it before but after chatting with a few people that have it and use it often I thought that it might make a great gift for a soda lover.
Of course…you could always just treat dad to a really great meal! Earlier this week thanks to Chic Darling I discovered The Carbon Bar at 99 Queen Street East.
The venue itself has some “history” – if you know what Electric Circus is then I will high five you and allow you picture the shadows in the windows 😉 This restaurant from the the Note Bene team has a more casual atmosphere and might be right up dad’s alley! They’re unfortunately not open on Sundays; meaning you can’t take dad there on Father’s Day, but it’s worth celebrating another day to experience the food by chef David Lee!

So…what will you be getting the dad in your life for Father’s Day this year?
