Another Fashion Magazine Beauty Panel post is up! This time is was all about how to do the cat-eye winged liner.
I think so far this is my favourite post – all the tips and tricks from everyone are so great! And this is definitely one of my favourite looks. Not easy to master at first but once you get the hang of it this look has really high impact and I think it’s classic and timeless. See my post
here.
I love doing this look with a gel liner and precise brush.
One of my favourite liners on the market is the
L’Oréal Infalliable Lacquer liner 24H in Blackest Black. This liner glides on so smoothly and I actually like the brush it comes with which is rare. I usually don’t use the brushes that come with products and prefer to use my angled brush from the
Eco Tools starter kit or the
small angled brush from Bdellium.
Some tricks I use to get a cat-eye winged eye.
1. Curl your lashes first
I don’t know when I started doing this but i find that curling my lashes first makes it easier for me to get the liner really close to my lash line. I start off by just lining my entire lash line and stopping where my lashes end.
2. Smile and take a look at your lower lash line.
I use this technique to figure out where I want the winged line to go. I follow the line of lower lashes and smile slightly and imagine my lower lash line extending up. This is where I draw the line.
3. Keep Q-tips handy!
No matter how much practice I get I always reach for q-tips to clean up the look and making sure the line is as sharp as possible.
These are my tricks for an everyday winged eye. For something more dramatic you could follow the same techniques and line your lower lash line and connect to the wing.
(Sorry for weird selfies and crazy hair haha!)
I would LOVE to hear your tips and tricks for achieving the perfect cat eye. I’m always looking to try something new and improve on my makeup application skills – I already learned some amazing things from the
