The spring Guerlain Météorites collection includes two beautifully packaged items; a Meteorites Base and an illuminating pressed powder.
{Spring Guerlain Météorites Collection}
First, I want to talk about the gorgeous packaging. The round compact is by far one of the most luxurious compacts I currently own.It’s a very weighted weighted compact which includes a mirror. The refillable powder itself is readily available but the compact is limited edition. The base product is equally beautiful; the glass bottle shows off the soft pink pearls of the product which adds a touch of luxury to your dressing table.
The perfecting base ($81 CAN) is an anti-dullness primer that looks like pearls but when you pump the product out the gel texture melts together with the pretty pink pearls to create a beautiful liquid that helps to correct imperfections. It’s also light which creates a brightening effect for a glowing complexion. It also has a lovely violet fragrance that I’m totally in love with.
1 pump is plenty to cover your face but the scent is so nice as well as the texture it makes me want to bathe in a pool of this!
Once the perfecting base is on I proceed with my regular makeup routine and to finish off my look with the Meteorites powder ($210 CAN).
From the Guerlain Website:
The Guerlain Météorites Voyage powder corrects and illuminates the complexion with an ultimate radiance thanks to ultimate mix of colour expertise and luxury formula. The precious and refillable case holds an exceptional blend of 5 different colours of micro pearls, hand-made and compacted by Guerlain’s craftsmen. The universal harmony, perfect mix of correcting and illuminating shades, adapts to all skin-types.
Let’s be honest here…the limited edition version of this is an unnecessary splurge. Although the compact is beautiful and even the powder itself leaves an illuminating finish, in my opinion there are other more affordable products out there that would give the same effect.
With that said I, did like the powder it leaves a subtle sheen for an illuminated effect that looks very natural but don’t expect to get a super highlighted look from this powder.
The two products combined created a very natural and glowy look that’s perfect for day-to-day wear.
