Last week, Hair on the Avenue Toronto hosted an exclusive screening event to the short film Anastasi – a film showcasing the ‘metamorphosis of fall and winter hair trends’.
Hair on the Avenue was kind enough to pass along an exclusive video of the film itself. Please check out the link below, what a beautiful film, and such a gorgeous reflection and portrayal of the trends to come.
Hair on the Avenue is a salon located at 112 Avenue Road in Toronto, directly in the Yorkville district. Specializing in both luxury and ‘fuss-free’, the boutique offers the best of all worlds. The team offers services in men and women grooming, colour design and application, and skincare and esthetics.
The film emphasizes the anticipation of the return of sleek hairstyles. With the summer coming up in the rearview mirror, we’re seeing a move away from beachy waves and textured locks, towards a focus on the sophisticated. The film portrays this as an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ kind of story – a girl awakens to find herself in different ‘worlds’, sporting different hair trends. The film itself was shot by director Noam Kroll.
Kelly Araujo, one of Hair on the Avenue’s leading stylists, designed all the film’s hairstyles. All of the styles incorporate and exploit length – it’s seen as dominating the trends and looks of the season.
The four looks portrayed in the video below include:
- The Summer Braid: Amplified and bigger; It can be made thicker and most extravagant with the incorporation of five strands interwoven
- Heavy Fringe: Blunt cuts across the face that emphasizes to frame the face and make facial features more dramatic
- The ‘Kate Middleton’: Sleek, tousled, styled, elegant, sophisticated, regal
- Atomic Bun: The definition of sleek and sophistication is captured in this over the top do; giving the sock bun a run for its money
The video is so gorgeously shot, and all the styles seem manageable and perfect for the upcoming season. Much thanks to Hair on the Avenue for providing such a wonderful look into the upcoming season!
