I apologize for the silence on my part – in case you didn’t know there was an ice storm in Toronto and many people lost power including myself! It was restored this morning however my computer seems to have been sleeping so long it’s been taking awhile to get out of hibernation mode!
I absolutely love Christmas but I know that it’s a very difficult time of year for many people as sometimes there are loved ones that cannot be with them or have perhaps passed on. I feel it’s the time of year to be thoughtful to each other and look out for one another.
When we lost power for a few days I was lucky that I could head over to my in laws who live close by and weren’t affected. My husband, Baxter and I “hid” out there during the days then came back home to “tough” it out and sleep. Sleeping in a house with no heat is NOT at all fun but it was really humbling and made me think how lucky we are to have family close by and a roof over our heads. There are so many people around us that don’t have family or are perhaps even homeless. I can’t even imagine sleeping outside in the frigid temperatures and not having a warm place to lay my head.
I’m hoping that all of you will keep warm and happy thoughts in your minds and send positive energy to those that are less fortunate and feeling lonely or sad especially at this time of year.
