Whenever I come across anything from Burberry my mind instantly drifts to thoughts of England; the classic Burberry trench, the royal family, polo matches and gorgeous plaid. Today, let me inspire you to try out a new scent in your life: Mr. Burberry.
{Inspired by London: Mr. Burberry}
“Mr. Burberry is our most significant men’s fragrance to date. Inspired by the iconic Burberry trench coat and by London, a city of great contrasts and contradictions. It is traditional yet irreverent, elegant without being pristine. It perfectly encapsulates a mood and an attitude that today’s Burberry man will recognize as his own.” – Chirstopher Bailey, Chief Creative and Chief Executive Officer, Burberry
My husband got to be the one to test this masculine, fresh and herbal scent. It is downright sexy, rebellious and sophisticated all at the same time!
The bottle itself is inspired by the black trench coat and its signature design details, similar to the women’s “My Burberry” scent.
“Bold and masculine, the weighted cap references horn-look buttons, while a hand-tied knot in English-woven black gabardine sits around the neck, celebrating the innovative fabric invented by Thomas Burberry more than 100 years ago.” –Mr. Burberry, The Bottle
If you think it doesn’t get any more luxurious, think again. Customers are also able to personalize their 100ml of 150ml bottle with up to 3 initials through monogramming service available on Burberry.com and selected Burberry and wholesale stores.
Christopher Bailey worked in collaboration with renowned perfumer Francis Kurkdjian to create this aroma that is described as sensual, herbal and woody.
Top notes: Grapefruit, Tarragon and Cardamom
Heart: Birch Leaf, Nutmeg Oil, Cedar Wood
Base: Vetiver, Guaiac Wood, Sandalwood
There is also a line of grooming products in this scent which includes Aftershave, Face Moisturizer, Beard Oil, Deodorant and Body Wash.
The Mr. Burberry Campaign was shot in London by British director Steve McQueen in his first commercial film. It features British actor and musician Josh Whitehouse and model and actress Amber Anderson. The soundtrack was created by British singer-songwriter Benjamin Clementine. You can watch a short clip of it here. There is also a longer film (just under 4 minutes) which is on the sensual side.
