Happy new year everyone! I’m so excited to kick off 2015 by telling you about the LG G3 phone that I’ve been testing out over the last few weeks as an official LG G3 beauty blogger.
I was invited to the newly opened Her Majesty’s Pleasure to learn all about the LG G3 Beauty Campaign, the phone and all its amazing features.
I was actually in the market for a new phone. The phone I had was the Samsung Galaxy S2 and while I loved the phone when I first got it, it’s pretty outdated now and couldn’t seem to keep up with all the apps I needed to use. Since the LG G3 is also an android phone, the transition for me was pretty easy.
Here are some of my favourite features:
The Screen
The screen size is huge compared to my old phone. In fact the screen of the LG G3 is AS big as my previous phone!
At first I was intimidated by this – it was a draw back for me since I have small hands and I had trouble taking photos and handling my old phone as it was.
Turns out the large screen size is a huge advantage when taking photos and editing them as well as for reading emails and documents. I got used to the screen very quickly and I’m actually reading more blog posts and watching more vlogs since the screen is so great!
The Camera
Probably the most important feature for a blogger is the camera quality of a phone, and the LG G3 camera doesn’t disappoint! Whether I was taking selfies, product photos or event photos this camera always came through.
Let’s just focus on the selfie here and not on the fact that I didn’t know where to look 😉
Coffee meetings and lunch dates are part of every blogger’s life! This latte was actually snapped during a weekend lunch with my husband 😉
See how gorgeous this product shot is? This phone has definitely made my life easier when it comes to taking blog photos quickly!
Camera Features
Further to the camera itself are some of the many features the camera has to offer.
Beauty Mode Feature
Love them or hate them, selfies aren’t going anywhere. The LG G3 camera has a “beauty mode” feature that is automatically turned on when you use the front facing or “selfie” camera.
Here is an example of the difference the beauty mode makes. With the beauty mode turned “off” on the left and turned “on” on the right. (Note that these aren’t the original photos straight off the camera so the quality isn’t the same).
Magic Focus
Another feature I love is the the “magic focus” mode. When turned on it essentially takes a bunch of photos of your subject using different focal points and after the photo has been processed you can then choose which part of the photo you want in focus.
The photo on the left is an example of the necklace in the background in focus while the photo on the right shows the lipstick in focus.
Voice Command and Gesture Photo Taking
Another amazing feature of the camera on the LG G3 is the fact that you can take photos through voice command or sign language! In both the regular camera mode and selfie mode you can say the words “smile”, “LG”, “cheese”, “Whisky” or “Kimchi” to snap a photo. Also, in the selfie mode only, if you hold your hand up with your palm open a box will appear around it. Make a fist and there will be a 3 second countdown to the perfect shot! These hands free photo taking features are what sold me on the larger size of the phone itself.
I’m REALLY enjoying using this phone. Besides all my favourite features it suits my lifestyle and all my needs perfectly.
Look out for an amazing contest I’ll be holding with LG soon and in the meantime check out my instagram and twitter feeds featuring photos taken with the LG G3 phone. You can follow along with the hashtag #LGG3beauty.
What do you think about this phone? Have you tested it out?
