Fall collections are already out! Sohnee has the scoop on this really pretty one by mark. !
*****
As I’m sure many of you already know, Elaine has been a fan of Avon and mark.for many years. When she gave me their new fall products to try out, I was excited to see what they were coming up with next. Available this September, this mark. fall collection includes a Limited Edition Wonderfleur Collection alongside some new Hook Up eyeshadows and lip glosses and waterproof liquid eyeliners.
Color Swing eye compact $26.00
They have done this before with their spring collection, so the color swing is back with the hottest shades for fall. Alongside three neutral shades, mark. has included three beautiful shades that are a part of Pantone’s fall color trends for 2014.
I really like the packaging – they were pretty efficient with space since you flip the compact to reveal the other three colours and the swing is pretty fun, too. I’m not a huge fan of shimmer eyeshadows, but if you are, you will likely enjoy playing with this palette. The flower pattern on each shadow is a nice touch to the whole thing (they’re so pretty, I almost didn’t want to use it!). The shades are very buildable and you can use the shadows wet or dry. The swatches below required quite a bit of application before achieving that level of saturation.
I think the lighter shades may be too light for someone with my skintone, but it can look beautiful on someone with a lighter complexion.
Wonderfleur body cream + EDT spray $14.00 + $28.00 now only $28.00 for the pair!
This duo doesn’t make me think of fall, but it does make me think about a beautiful spring meadow! Both are floral with notes of apple blossoms, meadow dew, fresh freesia, daisies, and a touch of pillowy musk. It’s a light fragrance that doesn’t overpower you, so I really love it!
The cream gets absorbed into my skin pretty quickly and doesn’t leave a greasy residue. The moisturizing effect lasts a long time compared to most lotions, so I would consider this cream to be similar to a body butter. The scent fades away nicely within a few hours. If you want the scent to last a long time, use the cream and then put on the spray.
All Time Eye Hook Up Eyeshadow $10.00
You may already know that I enjoy my sleep in the mornings and don’t like to take too much time for makeup (5 minutes, if I can help it). These cream eyeshadows are really easy to apply and last through the whole day. I got to try indie blue and deep forest. The indie blue eyeshadow cream looks more silver than blue and with these, a little goes a long way! I like to put a little bit on in the middle of my lid and then spread it around with my finger. It gives a frosty look that I might have to save for the winter 😉 Deep forest has some brown tones and gold flecks in it that let this shade suit my skin very well.
All of these eyeshadows have a brush applicator, which reminded me of putting on nail polish, but it made for very easy, even application. The shadow stays put without smudging. I didn’t notice any creasing throughout the day, either. They’re pretty great if you like eyeshadows with a metallic finish.
Waterproof What a Line Max Liquid eyeliner $12.00
The What a Line Max line has come out with waterproof versions of some really great eyeliners. I got to try one from each of their styles: one shimmer shade and one matte. Steely gleam is one of their shimmer shades that looks silvery blue. There’s a lot of sparkle in this one, so you’ll likely want to save it for a special night out. Electric cobalt is a matte, bold shade of blue. This is a great alternative to wearing eyeshadow, as just a winged look with this eyeliner will give you a great pop of colour. This blue eyeliner is my new best friend.
Both are very easy to apply with the foam tip applicator, so you can go as thin or as thick with your line as you like. They don’t smudge and last all day. Thankfully, I could remove them easily using an eye makeup remover (like the one from Avon’s Elements collection)
Total Kiss Up plumping lip gloss $10.00
Ok, right off the bat, I have to say it – these glosses do not plump up your lips. Most volume-enhancing lip products contain some sort of irritant to make your lips swell by dialating the blood vessels in your lips. This is usually some form of chilli pepper, ginger, or even mint. This line uses cinnamon, hydrolyzed collagen, and hydrolyzed elastin, but I didn’t find that it made any difference to my lips. Having said that, it’s still a nice lip gloss.
Swank is a sheer pink gloss that is basically a ‘my lips but better’ shade for just about everyone. Belle is a red gloss with shimmer flecks in it. Both of them also use a brush applicator instead of the typical sponge doe foot. They also smell like candy (delicious!). However, I found them to be too sticky and too shiny for my taste.
From Left to right: Indie Blue eyeshadow; Deep Forest Cream eyeshadow; Steely Gleam eyeliner; Electric Cobalt eyeliner; Swank lipgloss; Bell lipgloss
So, there you have it. mark. fall collection for 2014 is available to purchase online or through an Avon representative.
Which product(s) are you looking forward to trying the most? Are there any “classic” Avon/mark. products you can’t live without?
