I was browsing the Old Navy site the other day and I loved what I was seeing. Of course it can be hit or miss with the quality (as is every store) but you can definitely find some jewels at a very affordable price point that you can mix with some of your more luxe pieces for a personalized look.
I was also able to check out the Spring 2014 look book so I wanted to share my favourite 7 looks.
Boat Neck Linen Blend Sweater (952991 $29.94) /The Rockstar Zip Pocket Pant (648197 $39.94)
I was never a huge fan of army green or camo for that matter but I just love this whole look with the muted shades of moss. Of course these pieces are basics and will work well with any wardrobe.
Lightweight Tie-Waist Jacket (952996 $44.94) / Sheath Eyelet Dress (953135 $39.94)
When I saw this jacket I thought absolutely nothing of it – in fact I’ll be honest – it didn’t look flattering to me at all! But when I saw it featured in the lookbook I loved how it was styled! With the sleeves rolled up and the drawstrings used to cinch in the waist it makes a nice alternative to a structured blazer. And we all know how much I love lace dresses (and how many I have) so throwing a surplus jacket like this over it could dress it down quite a bit.
Rope-Graphic Crew-Neck Tee (952535 $8.50) / Printed Jersey Pencil Skirt (967641 $24.94)
This is one of my favourite looks! The nautical theme is HUGE this spring – I’m seeing it everywhere. I love this take with the graphic Tee (there are a few different styles) and I’m pretty sure this is the same jacket as above but in a blue colour. But that skirt! That skirt is my favourite! It’s a shorter version of my Loft Maxi Skirt.
Anchor-Print Chambray Shirt (939067 $27.94) / Pixie-Skinny Ankle Pants (525427 $39.94)
While the anchor on anchor print might be TOO obvious a take on the nautical theme I still love the idea of the cute small print on either the shirt or the pants. In fact, why not just take the classic white blouse you probably have in your closet and pair it with these printed pants?
Ponte Knit Blazer (938947 $44.94) / Striped Lightweight Oxford (953908 $29.94)
So, I had a gift card burning a hole in my wallet so I may have already picked up this blazer (which by the way looks much nicer in real life than online) so you may get treated to an outfit post soon! I love the stripe on stripe mixing going on here and this soft blazer is cozy too so it almost feels like you’re wearing a sweater!
Printed Tank (952690 $ 22.94) / Pixie-Skinny Ankle Pants – Daisy Print (525427 $39.94)
I’m in love with this look as it is so “me” but with the pattern mixing (which I’m still getting used to).
Classic Chambray Shirt (952610 $29.94) / The Rockstar Printed Skinny Jean (954196 / $39.94)
I’m not crazy about the pants on this one – I think the pattern is just too busy for me – but what I’m loving is the Chambray shirt! Believe it or not I do not have one in my closet so I will be picking up one of these classic shirts for sure. I love seeing it paired with a statement necklace to glam it up. In fact, Old Navy also has a polka dot version of this shirt! I saw it the other day while shopping with Zeba of Ella Pretty Blog (and look what happened!). I might either go back or get it online!
This collection is making me look forward to shopping for spring and the best part is that all of these pieces would work with my current wardrobe so I will still feel comfortable and not too trendy.
Are you an Old Navy fan and do any of these looks or pieces catch your eye?
