If you read my first post on my experience in NYC as an Aveeno Ambassador you will agree that I was given the star treatment by the Aveeno team and Patrick Melville.
The star treatment didn’t stop there! After the session with Patrick I was whisked away to check into the gorgeous 70 Park Avenue Hotel – A Kimpton Hotel for a bit of rest before heading out to dinner.
This hotel was amazing! Besides a small glitch and a misunderstanding at the front desk when I arrived my one night stay there was great!
It had been a long travel day for me and since the weather was bad that day the flight to New York City from Toronto was not very pleasant. I was looking forward to maybe catching a quick nap before heading to dinner but I was just way too excited when I stepped into my room.
Isn’t the bedroom and living area gorgeous? This was my first time in NYC as I mentioned before but I was told that this room was HUGE for NYC standards.
I took some pictures of the bathroom but there were mirrors everywhere and couldn’t really get a great shot without me in them – but the best part of the bathroom?
It was decked out in Aveeno products just for me!!
Check it out – I didn’t even need to bring any hair or skin products with me!
On top of that in the “office” area of the room there was this wonderful gift basket of more Aveeno goodies, snacks to help sustain me on my trip and a Mason Pearson brush!
I was seriously feeling spoiled. Before I knew it after all my exploring and picture taking it was time to head out for dinner.
Abc Kitchen (of Abc Carpet and home) is a beautiful restaurant. When I was packing for my trip I had no idea what I was supposed to wear to such a place – I had read that princess Eugenie and her dad prince Andrew had dined there AND David and Victoria Beckham too – ack!
But it’s actually a really nice casual place with REALLY good food. Pricier obviously then say a chain restaurant but all the food is made with local ingredients and is free of any synthetics, hormones, antibiotics and pesticides. I do not proclaim to be a “foodie” but let me tell you the food was amazing and you could really taste the difference in quality.
My lovely dining companions were Karen of Health and Swellness and Laura and Kerry of RPR marketing for Aveeno. We were so overwhelmed by the menu – absolutely everything looked so delicious.
Check out my meal above (Halibut) and a mushroom/egg pizza that we shared. The halibut dish was really simple but so good. You could taste all the fresh ingredients. The pizza was extremely flavourful. Really good cheese, a ton of mushrooms and the texture of the egg was interesting but really good. The crust was perfectly baked too!
Okay for the best part…dessert! At the top is an incredible salted caramel ice cream on top of chocolate fudge and sprinkled with caramel popcorn and a dollop of whipped cream. I was dying at how good this was! Also ordered was a peach cobbler and a pear cake – both homemade and equally scrumptious.
And a group shot of all of us…happy in a food coma!
It was then back to the hotel for much needed rest – I couldn’t wait to fall asleep in the comfy bed. But first…I discovered this in the closet:
Which completely reminded me of Stephanie Fusco so I had to snap a photo for her!
After this it was really off to bed as the rest of my New York adventures were to begin.
Thank you so much to the RPR marketing team on behalf of Aveeno and 70 Park Avenue hotel for the extreme hospitality – it was an excellent first night in New York City!
