This year, I was lucky enough to be invited to Toronto’s World Mastercard Fashion Week! Due to circumstances beyond my control (ahem, Toronto traffic), I didn’t make it! But thankfully, I have an amazing round-up of some of my favourite backstage looks from the events of the week.
This post? We’ll cover my favourite looks from Chloe Comme Parris, Pink Tartan, Mackage, and Pavoni.
The show I was looking forward to the most was Chloe Comme Parris. With such a name, you know the elegance and grace of this collection was going to be outstanding; a statement. The backstage looks were the epitome of class and prestige.
Bold is the statement Chloe Comme Parris is making here. Bold lips, bold outfits, bold hair. Bold red lips dominate this backstage look, along with dark eye makeup. The dark eyes perfectly offset the boldness of the lip. Paired with a leather jacket, this look demands attention.
Bold lips for fall is a perfect trend that anyone can master. Here, Chloe Comme Parris harnessed the power of Maybelline Colour Whiper lip colours. A perfect blend of balm and stain, it’s the best way to achieve a bold lip colour while keeping lips moisturized.
Maybelline products are the go-to way to achieve a Chloe Comme Paris look. I spy Maybelline Baby Lips!
Chloe Comme Parris balanced out there bold makeup looks with flowy natural hair. Bohemian hair trends are the trend that never goes out of style, and it’s easily obtainable (Redken products helped design the hair). Here, I love what they’ve done with their models hair – natural waves are amplified and hair is braided to keep on trend.

Pink Tartan was a wildly popular fashion show – if you were following the madness on Twitter, you would have seen a lot of talk about this show. All about big hair, big eyebrows, and big impact yet with a minimalist twist, Pink Tartan showcased what turned out to be some of my favourite looks of the week!
What I love about this look is it’s simplicity, with high impact. This look is put together, without being too perfect. Look at the bold statement that high hair is making in the bottom row – very much teased, with high impact volume, but totally achievable by those of us who want to.
The makeup here is minimal – perfect! Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream (featured on this blog before – Battle of the BB Creams, anyone?) is the best way to even out skin tone without the heaviness of foundation. It’ll give you the colour and mattifying properties you’re looking for. On top of that, a little bit of Maybelline Fit Me Blushes will give your cheeks the pop of colour that is perfectly suited to your skin tone.
On trend for this fall with Pink Tartan? Bold eyebrows. Achieve the same look by only plucking the sparse hairs that don’t fall in line with the rest of the brows. Leave the rest. Don’t over-pluck, don’t over-clean.
Here are some up closes of the trends Pink Tartan is pulling off for Fall / Winter 2013:

Pavoni focused their runway show on tight-bodices and diaphanous fabrics. In one word one – glamourous. This look is pure glitz, glam, glitter, and grandeur. It’s the absolute perfect look for nighttime. Smokey eyes and glamourous fabrics? I’m sold!
Want to achieve this dramatic makeup look? Easy breezy with Maybelline products. Use Maybelline Fit Me Pressed Powder in Honey Beige to define the cheekbones and make them pop. For the smokey eyes, apply Maybelline Colour Tattoo Shadow in Barely Branded all over the lid, and then draw an thick line of Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Liner in Brown under the eyes. To add a little more drama, apply Maybelline Master Precise Ink Pen Liner in Black on the eyelids. You’ve got a perfect look for night!

How did Redken go about styling the hair for this elegant runway show? Going with the whole ‘glamour’ theme, they knew it had to be all about elegance and sophistication. The majority of their hair looks was sophisticated up-dos and pin-backs. Simply pull back and mold your hair into the shape you want, using hairspray and gel to secure.
