A while back I was asked to attend a Make Up For Ever Brunch to highlight their new brush collection and learn about foundation basics. I was going to be out of town during the session so Oliva was kind enough to attend for me! Here is her recap.
In September, I went to a Make Up For Ever event where I got to meet celebrity makeup artist Troy Jensen (Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez are some of his clients) and learn about foundation basics. The event was held at The Eaton Centre inside Sephora. The MUFE section is every makeup lover’s dream. The set-up and atmosphere is similar to the feel of the backstage scene of a fashion show – sans craziness and chaos of course.
Tip: To bring runway looks to the red carpet, take one element and tone it down
Fact: He currently loves the colour orchid pink from vintage YSL
Fact: It takes about an hour to do celebrity makeup
Fact: He loves the look of tanned skin and beige lip.
Fact: He wanted to pursue music and art and is a self-taught makeup artist
Fact: His celebrity dream client would be Diana Ross but he loves working with a wide range of celebs.
Tip: Use highlighting makeup several ways: apply under foundation, upper cheek bones, upper lip, corner of eyes, clavicle and seam of legs and arms
Yvonne Macinnis, who is the boutique manager for The Eaton Centre location used the following products.
- HD Foundation #123
- Pro Finish #123
- Sculpting Blush #12
Yvonne’s beauty tip: match blush to the colour of your lips for a natural look.
I hope you enjoyed this post. Stay beautiful! Xoxo
