A couple weeks ago I was invited to Minling Pan Studio (also known as Shining Image) located near Yonge and Eglinton for a fun evening of style and to preview Minling Pan’s private collection of hand bags.
I have to say, I just loved the store! There were so many things to browse from clothing to accessories – my eyes couldn’t stop wandering!
On top of that Minling’s new collection of handbags was just gorgeous…seriously, so much so that I was too busy touching and trying on that I forgot to snap pictures of some of my favourites 🙁
This black everyday bag caught my eye though – as the practical side of me thought this would be the perfect work bag.
The teal bag in the bag ground I loooved! And there was a navy one that pulled on my heart too.

Minling, the owner is an image consultant and also a trained colour specialist! Do you remember the term “getting your colours done”? I remember this lady came to our house to do my mom’s colours and I was so fascinated by the concept. When I was chatting with Minling she mentioned that before, in terms of your colours there were only 4 seasons. Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer. Now there are 10!
To determine your actual season and which colours look best on you Minling can sit down with you for a 2 – 3 hour colour consultation (who knew it was so complicated!). Do you know that the colours you wear not only have an affect on your outward appearance (I’m sure we all know which colours look horrible on us but yet we don’t know why!) but they can have an affect on our happiness, our levels of positiveness and also how others perceive us?
I was the first one to jump into Minling’s chair to get my colours done so unfortunately I don’t have any pictures. I did however learn that cooler tones such as blues, pinks, reds, purples, wines work well on me while yellows and greens and duller pastels aren’t very complimentary. For neutrals browns are out but blacks, whites and greys (thank goodness!!) are in.
Here is Stephanie getting her colours done – she had a similar colour outcome as me.

And here we are having some fun in the photo booth.
I had so much fun that night hanging out with bloggers I hadn’t seen in a while such as Stephanie (actually I had seen her twice that week haha!), Tiffany, Bianca, Anum, Brittany, Nicole and Val. Also it was great meeting Jamie-Leigh and JJ Cowan for the first time!
HUGE thanks to Val and Charming Media for the invite and the great event!
One last pic of me in the photo booth 😛
(So weird, I have like the same face going on in all three photos hahahaha!)
If you want to check out the Minling Pan Studio it is located at 158 Eglinton Ave West, Toronto near the Yonge and Eglinton subway station.
