Normally I don’t have time for a mask at night. I have so many cleansers, serums and lotions to apply that a nightly routine of mask applying just isn’t really in the cards.
On weekends however, time is a bit more (not always!) of a luxury. I was sent over these masks by MaskerAide to try.
I’m used to clay based masks that kind of harden on your face but since being introduced to different brands like Pure + Simple and Nuxe I’ve discovered other masks that don’t dry at all! Very recently I’ve been introduced to sheet masks when they are used on me during my P+S facials but I’ve never actually used one on my own so I was quite excited to try these out.
There are 6 different types of masks:
- All Nighter
- Detox Diva
- I Don’t Wanna Grow Up
- Beauty Rest’ore
- Weather Warrior
- Pre Party Prep
All the masks are super hydrating and made with a highly concentrated Argan Oil based serum. The masks are also free from:
- Parabens
- Harsh dyes and pigments
- mineral oils
- artificial fragrances
- Benzophenone
- glycerins
So what did I think about these masks? I loved them! They really feel so good on the skin – I would warn your significant other and other family members you may have in the household before putting this on though – it can make you look like “Jason” LOL! I thought my cat Baxter would freak out but he totally knew it was me!
I applied the mask on a Saturday night after cleansing and after using a witch hazel toner. The instructions said to leave the mask on for 10 – 20 minutes but I probably waited a good 30! Afterwards when I removed the mask I didn’t want to waste the moisturizing goodness so I just rubbed the serum into my skin and used some of the excess from the mask and the packaging on my neck. I didn’t bother with my other serum and moisturizer as the hydration provided by the mask was enough. The only thing I wish is that the mask extended a bit to the neck area as I usually apply my traditional masks on that area too. The next day my skin had absorbed the serum and was really soft and refreshed!
I also love the price point of these masks – $4.99 each. And because they come in individual packages and are so lightweight it’s super easy to just throw in your travel bag and pamper yourself when you’re away from the comforts of home. And as a bonus, MaskerAide is a Toronto Based company! I love them even more!
I’m now a sheet mask convert and will definitely be using these again!
What are your thoughts on sheet masks? Have you tried them? Do you want to try them?
