Many of you are now familiar with the Luxe Box which is a really cool concept. In the US I was told they have the same thing called the Birch Box. I recently stumbled upon a similar concept called a Glymm Box. I had signed up for their emails awhile ago but I hadn’t had a chance to actually sign up and try their service out.
Well to my pleasant surprise Glymm.com contacted me to tell me more about the company and to partner up with Toronto Beauty Reviews to keep you, my readers, up to date on the world of fashion and beauty (how could I resist?!?). I had a couple questions about the concept, hopefully my questions would be the same as other people’s questions too
Ok, so what is Glymm.com?
As I said, similar to the Luxe Box and the Birch Box a beauty Glymm Box subscription will get you a cute little beauty box filled with 4 – 5 sized deluxe-sized luxury beauty samples. The samples will be hand-selected for you by Glymm’s panel of experts according to a personal beauty profile you will fill out. I love this concept, it will make the whole experience more personal and suited to each individual.
How is Glymm.com different and how much does it cost?
Isn’t cost always the bottom line? (It usually is for me anyway). I was happy to hear that a subscription will cost $10/month or $110/year. What makes Glymm.com so different? It’s the only Canadian company to offer a beauty box subscription AND a full online shopping boutique as well as an online fashion/beauty/lifestyle community. This way, you get to try the products out and talk about them in the community. If you really love a product you can then also buy the full sized product directly from Glymm’s beauty boutique!
Is the Glymm box available in Canada only?
Right now Glymm only ships to Canada but according to the website a US box will be coming very soon! This makes me happy since I do feel bad leaving my American friends out
What brands can I expect in my Glymm box?
Glymm says they will be showcasing luxury, niche and emerging brands. Some of the current brands offered include Cargo (one of my favorites!), OPI, Stila, NARS, Gucci and Lise Watier (yay another Canadian favorite!).

Another thing I found interesting about the concept was the idea of Glymm Points which are essentially loyalty points (similar to Shopper’s Drug Mart Optimum points) which you accumulate and can use towards the purchase of full sized products! (LOVE that!)
It’s been only a month since Glymm.com was launched and the August Glymm box was sold out in two weeks (I missed out – but look forward to my September box). Glymm is still in ‘beta’ mode so at the moment there are only a limited number of memberships available. If you’d like to sign up for a Glymm.com membership you can click the image below which contains my referral code. You don’t have to buy a subscription to become a member, however if you do sign up with my referral code and buy a subscription I will earn some Glymm points!
I’m really excited to be one of Glymm’s Canadian Beauty Ambassadors! I can’t wait to receive my very first Glymm box and be part of the first group of people to experience this exciting site and community

This sounds great! I signed up for this as well…looking forward to the September box.
I just recently signed up for Birchbox and can’t wait to get my goodies. I think it’s a great concept for those of us who love to try new products.
That is cool. This concept really takes off, obviously. It may be fortunate that my interest in skincare and beauty have died down significantly this year or else I would sign up at these sites..hehe. Look forward to the giveaway.
I can’t wait to read your reviews on glymm. I haven’t signed up for birchbox only because I have really sensitive skin and once I find something that works…I stick to it. This could also lead to traumatizing occasions when my favorite (one and only products) get discontinued… Hmmm may be time to time to birchbox… I am so happy to hear that you get to be their ambassador! You deserve it!
So cool! Can’t wait to see what your reviews are.

Very cool! (This would probably be perfect for me actually since I never stray from my old stand by favorites
Ooh, i love Canadian companies, and i love the cosmetic brands that Glymm partners with. I will definitely check them out. Thanks so much for the post!
What a cool concept! I have never heard of either Birchbox or Glymm Box in the past. I definitely will check them out. Thanks for a great review, Elaine!
It seems like when a good idea is born, the concept travels fast! They must be very popular if a month actually sells out. I liked my Birchbox items for traveling – nice products at sample sizes. I wish they would include a little nail polish EVERY month that changes with the seasons.
Exciting! I am looking forward to seeing what is in the September box!
Those blue sparkles in the example look like so much fun!!
What a great opportunity! Their box looks great and I applaud the better pricing – hope they come to the states soon
