Summer beauty is usually about minimal products and an all natural sun kissed glow. If only it were that simple! Unless you’re one of those women that can wake up with perfect hair and doesn’t need any makeup, summer beauty still takes some effort.
Unfortunately, I have a few areas that I feel I need help with. Adult acne still plagues me; I have sun spots even though I’ve been diligent with sunscreen for as long as I can remember; and my naturally curly hair DEFINITELY needs to be tamed.
As a (not so new) mom, I have even LESS time to put myself together before dashing out the door. Here are a few of my favourite summer beauty products that have been helping me get ready quickly.

Once you’ve figured out your summer skincare routine you may want to invest in some of these summer friendly beauty products.

Sunscreen
Even if you’re in a rush PLEASE take the time to slather on the SPF! It’s so important to do this daily but ESPECIALLY in the summer months!
My favourite mineral block sunscreen is the Murad City Skin ® Age Defense SPF 50. So far, it’s the only mineral sunscreen I’ve found that doesn’t break me out. It’s also so lightweight that it doesn’t leave a white residue, so it’s suited to those with darker skintones too.
Foundation
Here’s one you can skip…unless you need to cover up acne scars and dark spots like I do! Pick a foundation that’s lightweight, buildable and blends easily.
I’m loving the Too Faced Peach Perfect Foundation. They’ve got a great variety of shades and just a small amount can cover my whole face. I blend it all over my face quickly with a foundation brush, and I feel comfortable with the amount of coverage itprovides.
Blush Or Bronzer
Just a little bit goes a long way to brightening up your face! I personally wouldn’t skip this step as it just brings a nice glow to your complexion. Check out one of our favourite blush and bronzer combos by Charlotte Tilbury. Just sweep it on quickly and you’ll look more alive in seconds!
Mascara
I’ve always been a big fan of mascara – it helps to open up the eyes, make them look brighter and make you look more awake. (A must for a busy mamas for sure!). If you’ve got long lashes that already stand out, then you can skip this step. If you have non-existent lashes like I do, then consider a lash serum such as Eyenvy. I started using it again recently and I LOVE the results.
Currently, I’m using Glossier’s Lash Stick. It darkens my lashes but looks completely natural – and no clumping! Just a couple of swipes and off you go.
Lip Balm with SPF
SPF is needed for your lips too! Lips can burn so easily and we often forget to protect them from the sun. My solution is to use lip balm that already contains SPF.
My pick is the Sun Bum SPF30 Lip Balm. It comes in a variety of great flavours too!
Curl Cream
Girls with curly hair will understand my dilemma. I love the idea of my hair loose and blowing in the summer breeze; but in reality it just ends up being a big frizz ball! Braids and “mom buns” have been my go to hairstyles. But no matter what hairstyle I choose I always use a good curl cream. My all time favourite is Marc Anthony.
Perfume
So obviously you can skip the perfume, but when you’re running out the door and forget to apply a spritz of your favourite scent it can throw your entire day off. (Is that just me?).
I love the idea of refillable atomizers. Travalo Milano has atomizers that are both gorgeous and TSA approved. They’re perfect for travel or someone who’s always on the go. Just throw it in your purse and you’ll never be withour your favourite scent. They come in 8 colours too…I kinda want them all!
