Those of you living in Toronto or in the GTA may have heard of Ste Anne’s Spa – a very well known spa about 90 minutes outside of Toronto focusing on well-being.
Offering day spas and overnight packages this is actually a spa that would be perfect for a girls getaway, a couple’s retreat or some well deserved alone time. They offer several spa services including massages by an RMT. There are plenty of wellness activities too both indoors and outdoors but I would take full advantage of the outdoors as the property looks beautiful!
I know that not all of us can afford the luxury nor the time to head up to Ste Anne’s including myself. I’ve been trying to plan with the husband to get up there for some much needed couple and quiet time but it’s proving to be quite difficult with our schedules! I still have a goal of heading up there this year but in the meantime the next best thing is Ste Anne’s Skin Care line.
Ste Anne’s spa offers a complete face, body and hair care line. Each product is formulated with high quality botanicals and avoids using overly processed ingredients. What you get is a concentrated and holistically based skin care line that works.
I was sent over a few products to test out.
Cleansing Cream ($35)
The cleansing cream is a rich and creamy lotion like cleanser. It contains Lavender (antimicrobial; great for cleansing and clearing skin), Rosewood (skin tonic; cell stimulant + regenerative effect), Marshmallow Root (hydrates + supports moisture balance), Geranium (balances sebum production; clears congestion).
I preferred using this cleanser in the morning as my makeup is really tough to remove (I use an oil to remove it and follow with a cleanser). This cleanser is super hydrating. When I washed it off it was like I still had lotion on my skin! I can see why this would be a favourite at the spa. Your skin would be continuously drinking (the good kind) after cleansing.
Day Cream ($36)
I would say the day cream is more of a heavier lotion. The consistency is light and absorbed nicely into the skin. It contains Rose and Geranium Floral Waters (tones + hydrates; balances sebum production), Rose Damascena (key ingredient which nourishes, clears and calms), Chamomile (calms inflammation), Yarrow (heals and protects).
Even though this is a day cream I think I prefer using this at night. It’s nice and light however I feel my other moisturizers do a better job for my sensitive skin and my makeup applied better on top of my other products. I think if my skin were just a little bit more under control this could be a winner for me.
Hydrating Lotion ($25)
This lotion is seriously one of my favourites. Not only for the smell (which is AMAZING) but it works! As soon as I apply this it absorbs and all my flaky dry skin just disappears.
This lotion contains all sort of great ingredients. Bergamot (promotes luminosity; uplifting aroma), Patchouli (stimulates circulation + exfoliates dead dry skin), Lemon Verbena (reduces puffiness and detoxifies), Shea Butter (deeply hydrating + helps retain moisture).
Hand and Body Deep Hydration ($25.25)
This product is great too. It’s about the same consistency as the hydrating lotion but takes a bit more time to sink into the skin. Once it absorbs my skin is left feeling smooth and supple. The key ingredients are Jasmine (emollient and hydrating), Ylang, Ylang (a muscle relaxant), Sandalwood (increases water retention + heals cracked skin), Avocado Oil (rich in vitamins, deeply moisturizing)
This product is great at night as an all over body treatment. I find the scent relaxing too so it would be great to promote a good night’s sleep while moisturizing from head to toe!
I’m looking forward to (one day soon hopefully) checking out the spa for myself!
