With Christmas around the corner, you may be in need of some Christmas ideas for a coworker for Secret Santa, stocking stuffers or maybe a hostess gift for all the holiday parties you will be attending. The Body Shop has a holiday pop up shop in Yorkville (where the old Nine West store used to be). Now while you are buying gifts galore, why not take into consideration also giving back.

Protecting Endangered Animals
Earlier this summer The Body Shop introduced their friend, Reggie, the Red-shanked uc. This monkey, along with other endangered animals are at risk of losing their natural habitat. For this holiday, every time you purchase one of the gift sets, The Body Shop will restore 1 square metre of rainforest and protect these creatures. Not only are they protecting endangered animals in Vietnam, they have extended their reach to Indonesia and Malaysia. One Stop Shop
The Body Shop pop up shop is your one stop for all gift ideas. Everything in the store is packaged up in sets, advent calendars, holiday scents (vanilla chai, spiced apple and frosted berries) and even a station to personalize body butters. I really like the idea of personalizing things (remember the ID bracelet craze or even the Nutella jars last year). It’s a simple added touch to a last minute gift, it takes it up a notch. There is no cost for it, you just have to buy a body butter and staff will help you print out a personalized sticker.
To go along with the #wildchristmas and #junglebells theme, you get to pick an animal for the sticker (panda, flamingo, tiger or deer). The best upcycling part of this bespoke gift is that you can keep reusing the lid on future full-size body butters you buy.
Upcyling Packaging
Speaking of upcycling, here is another bonus about buying product from The Body Shop this year, most of their packaging is created to have a use for it after you remove/use the enclosed products. You can use the boxes as a jewelry case, storage for bobby pins and cotton pads or as a tin for cookies or late night snacks.
It’s worth checking out the pop-up just to see how they made use of the existing store and its furnishings and turned it into an ideal holiday shopping destination. They even have seating with iPads for the less enthusiastic shopper. The store is well decorated and is fully stocked with many gift sets and the usual Body Shop products. This holiday, shopping at The Body Shop will give a gift, give back a gift and also give a gift a second chance. It’s a 3-in-1 deal!
