I know Weleda for their fabulous skin and body care products (remember I’m an Almond Oil lover!) But did you know that they have fabulous hair care products too?
As a side note…I know it’s right in the Weleda logo “since 1921” but I still can’t believe they’ve been around this long! Not only have they been around this long but they have been taking a holistic approach with natural ingredients since this time too. So incredible!
Weleda recently launched three new shampoos each made with a biodegradable coconut and sugar based surfactant which cleanses gently without damaging the scalp. After all – healthy scalp = healthy hair!
The three shampoos are each formulated with different grains all with their own special properties.
The Oat Replenishing Shampoo is perfect for dry damaged hair (like mine!). Oats have an affinity to water which makes it perfect for this hair type. Jojoba oil is added to help restore, smooth and protect the hair. Give it a few weeks to see results as it can take this long for silicones from other products to be washed out.
The Wheat Balancing Shampoo has a nice fresh scent and the main ingredient is wheat germ oil which helps to soothe a dry and flaky scalp. There is also sage, rosemary and tea tree oil which help stimulate blood flow to the scalp which in turn revitalizes the hair.
The Millet Nourishing Shampoo is the one for you if your hair and scalp is pretty healthy already. Millet seed is not water rich so it’s good for maintaining moisture but won’t over moisturize your hair and weigh it down. If you have fine hair I’d recommend this one. Guys would probably love this one too assuming they don’t have a dry scalp.
Interestingly there aren’t conditioners that go with each of the shampoos. There is just the Oat Replenishing Treatment and the Conditioner.
Most hair lines you’ll see will have a shampoo and conditioner for each hair issue but the Oat conditioner is ideal for all hair types. Just use sparingly for finer hair and more for drier or damaged hair.
Use the treatment for hair that is extremely damaged, if you have chemically processed hair or if you use hot tools often. Use once or twice a week and you’ll help restore your hair to a healthy condition.
This last product I’m highlighting is also a hair treatment oil but it’s not new – in fact this Rosemary Hair Oil has been around as long as the company!
Any one can use this – just alter the way and the amount you use. A couple drops for daily conditioning and a cap full of oil massaged into the head and hair for a deep conditioning treatment.
Did you know that Weleda carried hair products? Which of these do you think would best suit your needs?
